Color is the heart and soul to any room. It sets the tone for the feel or mood of the interior. Selecting a wonderful color scheme does not require reinventing the proverbial wheel to get that ah-ha moment. Here are five which never disappoint.
Blue and white does not have to only consist of one color of blue and white (or cream). There is an interesting designer-esque rule of thumb when using blue, as long as there are at least three colors of blue, matching is irrelevant. There are an infinite number of blues: blue-greens, bluey-purples, aqua blues, sea blues, plus all the variations of dark and light. Blue is a color most people find comfortable and attractive. When paired with white the results are crisp, clean and classic.

White does not mean dull or boring, nor does it only work for chic modern rooms. White done well is warm and luxurious as both of these rooms illustrate. An all white room can create the most glorious canvas for displaying artwork. White rooms are about shape and form, they are calm and reflective. We know white kitchens and bathrooms are timeless, but white can be just as effective in other rooms of your home. Just how easy is it to do simple white? No- brainer! White is great for those who love to change their colors seasonally as well, just pop in some fresh colored pillows and call it done.

What is more classic than black and white? So Coco Chanel, so chic so… easy. Focus on black, white and a pop of color and you will be swimming in style. Black and white can be traditional or modern it is all up to you and your home. Using black and white creates instant order and because it is so familiar it is comfortable to be in.
Green and blue is one of those color schemes which can be amended to the current flavor of blues and greens and adaptable to locale. Here we have a grassy green and lapis blue. In another environment it could be lime and turquoise or navy and emerald. Whatever the choice this is another palette which is easy to live with. For a little zip introduce a bit of red or yellow and you’ve got charm and delight all in one package. Green and blue is comfortable and natural, like green grass and blue sky. It is a scheme you will love forever.
Gray is the new beige in terms of the go-to neutral. If there was a color with magical powers, gray is it. Gray enhances any color it is paired with. Like a pair of gray flannel trousers, you can count on gray. It makes bright colors pop, gives life to pastels and when used in combination of different shades of itself this is the ultimate color scheme. Go for glamor using black and silver with some metallic shimmer or ease into traditional tranquility with soft dove and pale grays. Informal or formal, shades of gray can breathe magic into your interior.
Color schemes can be fun. Try a new twist on a color scheme you can count on to instantly update your room.
