Wow, wow, wow is the still best way to express my experience with Modenus as a participant in BlogTour Cologne with an extra side trip to Amsterdam.
Between sponsor peeps and bloggers there were about 14 of us on the overnight flight from Newark to Dusseldorf. Conversations and making new friends won out over sleep. FYI: if you’ve never flown Lufthansa, it is a treat in terms of quality, attention to detail, cleanliness and precision. No disheveled looking flight attendants with unkempt hair and undersized uniforms – Lufthansa attendants all had trim physiques and impeccable tailoring.
Whoa, 6 am wide eyed and too pumped to be tired. Haven’t a clue what it says but I immediately spotted the Mini.
We had the most delightful experience at the DOM Cathedral. (There will be another post on the interior.) Believe it or not but we went to mass, one of those hour long Catholic masses with the Bishop, incense, pomp and traditional choir. It was lovely, though I had a hard time picking up the parts I knew in German. While seated I had an overwhelming nudge regarding having not gone to mass in eons: I lost a cap while committing a sin of chewing gum during mass. Lovely.
First authentic German Pub meal – yes I’m the odd one with the Riesling, and I like the glass.
Interesting architecture is every where.
At night we realized these colorful wall panels were in fact light boxes which changed colors throughout the day and at night.
Thank you Blanco for kicking off the week with a tour (including a test of some of our athletic talents) and delectable dinner at the German Museum of Olympic and Sport.
We had the most amazing time. Our group of bloggers was amaze-balls and I found something to learn from each one of them. I would say the overall theme of this trip was recognizing the world is much smaller than we think. (That and the U.S. has too many flippin rules designed to impede business and to promote lack of one’s own responsibility.) Wow, life is only as hard as we make it and boy, as Americans, we throw up roadblocks like confetti. Awesome trip and awesome insight with awesome people.

Nice recap and love the collage of you with your suitcase! x, S
I’m holding out for a picture of you wearing that Olympic outfit. The one that looks a bit like a sunsuit!
Oh you are too funny!
Lisa
Thank you. Using one suitcase while, sounds doable was so hard and this was without any souvenir shopping.
