Dazzling Bugattis old and new took center stage amongst various other specimens of vintage motorsport on the grounds of Mar-A-Lago. Classic Sports Sunday supplied the perfect finale to four days of automotive ecstasy courtesy of the Cavallino Classic in Palm Beach. The open wheeled racers greeted concours attendees as they made their way from the historic pool to the show field. But the high-styled versions with those big bulbous fenders and meandering curves captured plenty of attention. The sun was so bright, one didn’t realize the this 1938 Type 57C Atalante was actually blue and black not solid black. Ooooh those lines, this is a rear view like no other. This earlier Bugatti Type 55 Super Sport, courtesy of The Revs Institute, was an exemplary example of automotive beauty. Luckily we had the rare opportunity of the modern day Bugatti Veyron Pur Blanc Super Sport sitting only a few yards away. Who doesn’t appreciate a bit of blue carbon fiber?
Ferraris were still at the helm as they lined up en masse at the top of the hill, though I’ll save those for a later post.
Donald Trump’s Mar-A-Lago, the elegant Marjorie Merriweather Post estate, served up perfect weather for the festive concours d’elegance of beautiful automobiles. Along the pristine manicured ground off the spectacular terrace, automobiles old and new sparkled in the bright Florida sunshine. Finely attired women and dapper looking gentlemen wandered amongst the cars sipping bellinis. Could there be a better spot for a lawn full of Bugattis?
