INTERVIEW WITH STEVE JOSEPH, PRESIDENT OF DACOR, INC. – Lucky me, I actually was able to speak with Steve Joseph, the grandson of the founder of Dacor, Inc. and was captured by his passion for the company and specifically the WineStation®.
DG – Who do you see as the perfect person for the WineStation®?
SJ – Certainly the more affluent homeowners who are passionate about food, wine and entertaining. Those who already invested in a wine cellar and who wish to thoroughly enjoy their wine collection any evening without having to drink a whole bottle in one night.
DG – How does the WineStation® play a role in entertaining?
SJ – As more and more people entertain at home, wine pairing plays a bigger role. The WineStation® allows one to open multiple bottles at once and serve the perfect pour to pair with a chosen course or dish.
DG – This is a new product for you, why and why now?
SJ – I think about how we live. My wife might want to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening and like most people she isn’t going to finish the bottle. The WineStation® allows one to drink a better quality of wine, all the time, every night. The quality does not diminish once opened. We also see a new trend in people going all out in the home bar. For those who want to wow their friends, the WineStation® will fill this need. HUMBLE PIE – On occasion I have the foot-in-mouth affliction or should I say post in mouth. Upon first seeing this product introduced at Dwell on Design in June out in Los Angeles, I didn’t get it. And you might recall, I posted as much. Now I get it!
Pairing the right wine with the right food makes such a difference in the enjoyment of both the wine and the meal. Being able to maintain the quality of an opened bottle of wine especially when entertaining is awesome. Not having a bar, though the husband would likely love one, I totally missed the cool or wow factor of having a WineStation® on display.
I got it and now you can get it, literally.
