The twenty-fourth Cavallino Classic was full of surprises. The forecast was right, for the first time in twenty four years the skies over The Breakers opened up a mid-day deluge of rain onto the concours lawn. Open-top priceless Ferraris were quickly covered, however the rain did not seem to dampen the enthusiastic crowd.
Best of Show The big winner was the 1965 Ferrari 166 P / 206 SP Dino 0834. Nobody really expected a non-touring car to win with so many unbelievable examples of such on the field.
Rain or not the show field was awash in vibrant colors. This giallo 1959 Ferrari 250 GT Cabriolet SI captured lots of attention. But this gorgeous deep dark turquoise blue 1962 Ferrari 250 PF Cabriolet Series II GT was really a head turner. Black and white is always a classic and really shows of the lines of this 1959 Ferrari 250 LWB Berlinetta.
Bright sunny skies guided the pre-concours tour throughout Palm Beach, but the line-up at The Breakers was the best spot for photos. How stunning is this 1960 Ferrari 250 GT SWB Berlinetta?
We’ll have more in the following weeks from the Cavallino Classic including snaps from the always beautiful and perfect weather, Classic Sports Sunday at Mar-A-Lago next week.
