Every wonder where to use those awesome textural tiles you see in magazines or in the tile store? Break up all those flat surfaces in the bathroom and do the bump, with tile.
Textural tile is a hot trend both designers and tile manufacturers are embracing. It looks cool. Heck, it feels cool. Textual tile is downright fondle-worthy. The whole point of it is to make a statement, it belongs on an entire wall.
Interior designer, Kelli Ellis, seen on HGTV and Bravo, created a fabulous master bathroom in the Modernism Week Showhouse at the Christopher Kennedy Compound in Palm Springs. The rockstar of the room is her use of pristine white, textural ceramic tiles from Trendy Surfaces. En-masse is the secret to textural tile. Love, love, love how Kelli used it on all three walls. Special shout for her use of the liner drain as well. This, is how a tile shower is done.
Notice what else makes this bathroom sing? Her monochromatic color scheme with a base color is white. Simple is spectacular. This, is great bathroom design.
Next time you are wondering what to do with that expansive wall in a bathroom, do the bump, and use textural tile.
