Vintage racing is fun and trolling through the paddock during the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion is always an exciting experience. Each row has a spectacular line-up of vintage racing history. From well know factory marques to pure racing names, race cars for track use only, a walk through the paddock is loaded with racing eye candy. Hard to imagine this was the 41st year of racing on the Peninsula. In the early years the event was an actual road race through the pines of Pebble Beach. Now the twisting Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca is the host for 550 vintage race cars and 15 race groups. All the way from Australia, this guy with the Porsche 356 wins the prize for most creative use of paddock space. He recreated a vintage gas station!
Starting with the 1912 Packard, walking amongst the cars offers a visual evolution of racing over the last 100+ years. However one component remains the same, when it comes to historics, gentlemen and sport are still alive and well.
