The epitome of style, the best of the best, there are very few cars in my (not quite humble) opinion which fit in this category and at the top would be the Bugatti. French style, French fashion, French cars – there is so much to appreciate when it comes to design, style and performance.
Bugatti Type 35The Type 35 Bugatti in French Blue many guys salivate over, began life as a 2-litre racer 8 cylinder, 90 horsepower racer. Two litres? This barely hits our radar screen. Nowadays it takes at least 8 cyl. and 500 horsepower to do something, 10 cyl. to get us interested and 12 to… well you know what 12 will do. Hee hee hee. These two are both still racing as I found them at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca during the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion.
The Type 57
Granted the butterscotch color is not what one might call beautiful but the lines are in all the right places. Here the butterscotch is the Type 57S Atalante which is the sport model and the French blue is the Type 57 SC (super-charged).
The Veyron Okay wanna talk horsepower? How about 1,001 and 16 cylinders? Whoa baby now this is a car. Fastest production car on the planet, for a time. My what a difference a 6 cylinders makes, from the 2 in the Type 35 to the 8 in the Veyron.
Whatever, I’m still at girl, numbers don’t mean shit to me. Does it look good? Does it go where I want it? Will it perform when I need it to?
Yes, I do have my own rating system. I’ll tell you about this another time. For now just meditate on the very French Bugatti.
In a couple of weeks this will all make sense to you dear reader, there is a theme here. You can guess where I might be…
