Last year was a big year for DecorGirl, thanks to our sponsors we traveled many many miles for design and car related activities. Technically the car portion often counts for interior design because there is alway something new we are seeing and learning we can translate to design projects.
Design shows, especially the European ones really open one’s eyes to possibilities and fresh design ideas. Travel offers so many opportunities to learn about design, products and material application as well. It is impossible to sit only in one’s corner of the world and offer any relevance if one doesn’t go beyond their front door (state and country) to absorb and study elements, products and materials appropriate for today’s lifestyle. Here is a look back through 2014, enjoy!
Whenever I have a new project or am stumped for a design solution, the first place I go for inspiration is the past. Historic architecture is full of inspiration, lessons and tools, this past year we saw a lot, a whole lot. We visited the very old in Venice and Milan, a bit newer in Hyde Park, Boston, Newport and New York and ended with Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin West.
We couldn’t do all of this without our sponsors. Sponsors invite us to events, provide us with opportunities and sponsors who very generously supported the Modenus BlogTour Milan add so much to our design and product knowledge. Thank you we can’t wait to see what 2015 brings!
