Top 10 Interior Design Finds From ICFF

Every year interior designers hunt through trade shows to find the most unique and special interior furnishings and decorative objects for their clients.  Designers don’t do status quo or they aren’t designing.  The International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) in New York City was especially satisfying this year.  We like to find what is new, fresh and interesting.  There were plenty of items which had designers talking.  Here is a look at our top 10 interior design finds of the year.

Wall Art Wall art from Chisel & MouseA creative guy named Gavin from across the pond brings us architecture worthy of hanging on a wall.  Each building facade is precision crafted of hard plaster in perfect scale and with no detail ignored.  How about this for an English name, Chisel & Mouse?  Love it, want it – a must have for anyone who appreciates architecture.

A Faucet That Rocks Faucet handles made from stoneLeave it to a creative company in Brooklyn, Watermark Designs to come up with something so simple yet full of personality for the stylish rockhound.  Whether you like the rustic look of found rock specimens or the crispness of contemporary cut stone, there is a faucet handle for anyone who likes to rock their individuality in their interior.

Stylish Kid Furniture Cabinets and lighting for kidsIf you want a cool kid, you gotta surround them with cool stuff – in this case furniture and lighting from Cool Kids Company.

Best Outlet of Innovation Flush mounted outlet coverTRUFIG understands great design does not require a look-at-me approach.  Seriously this is the most innovative product to address outlet and switch plate covers ever – make it flush and virtually disappear.  Outlets are to be used not seen.

Fascinating Wood Furniture Artistic wood furniture from PELLE and Kino GuerinHaving grown up playing in the woodshops of both of my grandfathers, I appreciate the craftsmanship of woodworking.  The strict linear table from PELLE and the sensual curves from Kino Guerin are opposites which attract… attention.

Wine Display Storage Stylish wine storage hardwareSo often wine display furniture and shelving sold in stores is tacky at best, hideous at worst.  Vin De Garde Modern Cellars offers storage and display hardware worthy of the wine which does not compete with the wine.  Again designers who get it, it is about the wine not about what is showing it.

Creative Bathroom Furniture  Tub with shelvesIs it a tub or a shelves?  It is both.  blu Bathworks had me at “hello”.  The fine detail and innovative approach to bathroom fixtures and furniture really caught our attention as something new, fresh and timeless.

Unique Pairs JimmieMartinGreat design is almost always better in duplicate.  Pairs create order and comfort in a room.  These chairs and pillows by Jimme Martin are fun and fabulous.

Greenest Furniture  Cement furniture with plantersImpress your guests, let them pick their own fresh herbs from the legs of your dining table!  These original concrete furnishings from Opiary have style and an eloquence not often found in concrete furniture.

What are you going to use in your interior in 2014 to make it fresh, unique and interesting?
