Twas the night before Christmas and all through the garage, not a creature was stirring, the mousetraps all set. The car covers were on, adjusted with care, in hopes St. Nicholas soon would be there.
The tires pumped up, battery chargers all plugged into the beasts, while visions of warm weather driving danced in their heads. The husband and I snug under the heating blanket, had just settled down for a long winter nap.
When out on the metal roof there arose such a clatter, I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter. I ran to the siding door and looked up from the deck, to spy the scrambling and pawing of a full size turkey who had about broken his neck!
This my friends is a true story. I could’t make it quite work with the whole “Twas the Night Before Christmas” story but it is sort of funny. Yes, turkeys fly. Yes, they roost in trees. And yes, accidents do happen in nature, this poor guy was happily sleeping when he fell out of the tree.
Here’s wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas, safe travels and the opportunity for you to experience something unusual which awakens the child-like wonderment we all have inside.
