Time for a little bit of supercar love. People barely call them sportscars anymore. Only slightly more popular is the term exotic car, but let’s face it each one of these is super and a car, enjoy some supercars:
We’ll start at the budget end of the sporty-not-quite-a-supercar end of the spectrum. The Lotus Evora concept. Cute, snappy and well priced. We wanted the Elise so bad, but the US version kept getting put off, we moved on.
But if you like innovation and dare to be different a Koenigsegg might be for you. Check out the girth on this baby, can’t have short legs getting in and out of this car.
Maybe a Spyker is more up your alley, since being sold in 2011 to the same people running Saab I’m still not sure if anyone is buying them… nobody else would have one… in your state.
Then let’s move on to the romance of the Lamborghini. Both Murcielagos, love that (Ithaca verde green),
the Aventador and
Sesto Elemento have an edginess which is hard to beat, or confuse with anything else on the road.
Too crisp?
Well than there is nothing like a Porsche especially for driving. For track hounds there is the RS 4.0.
For performance and comfort (I kinda like having carpet) there is nothing like a Turbo. Wait, I think I feel a tear welling over up in the corner of my eye over the 997, ah we’ll get another.
What not beefy enough in terms of looks?
A Mercedes C 63 looks quite menacing.
Too pedestrian? Understandable.
What does this Pagani do for you? Distinct, performs and has a really nice rear. Though the mirrors do look like something out of Little Shop of Horrors.
Or would you rather channel your inner 007?
The Aston Martin Vanquish would put a little intrigue in any garage.
When it comes to blue cars the Jaguar XKR-S was astounding. Fit and finish deserves high marks, and the performance (and noise) did not disappoint, see my test drive.
Let’s move into the concepts…
Speaking of Jaguars, this has a look.
BMW and Alfa Romeo offer decent style though the BMW is obviously only for flatlanders.
Too exotic? Okay here is a Lexus LFA for the Japanese car contingent.
Too street, period.
I’ll stop toying with you and offer up the Ferraris.
Which would you like the mid engine 8 cyl. 458 or the brand new front engine 12 cyl. F12 Berlinetta?
Too available?
The 599XX EVO offers a little more race without the street vibe.
But if you gotta million dollars and change sitting around…
Go for an F50 or
the really special Bugatti Veyron.
But rather than spend so much, one can just look like it.
Let us luxuriate, though not totally at super car the Rolls Royce Ghost moves and gets attention. No Jeeves required.
Finally there is the supercar where even before driving, a girl can fall in love. The Bentley Continental GT V8 is my baby. It more than “had me at hello.”
It is the holiday season, there is nothing wrong with making a little wish list. What car is on yours?
