When it comes to golf vs cars, apparently golf wins. On May 24th, 2017, Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance announced it will take place next year on Sunday, August 26, 2018. “This one-time move from the third to fourth Sunday of August makes room for the United States Amateur Championship to be held at Pebble Beach Golf Links from August 13 through 19.” This results on four major changes to the 2018 Pebble Beach Car Week.
- Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance is moving to Sunday, August 26, 2018. The Tour d’elgance, Retro Auto and forum will shift as well.
- Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca announced the 2018 Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion will move one week later from their traditional third weekend to August 23-26, 2018.
- The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering will also move to coordinate with the later Pebble Beach Car Week.
- The Monterey Pre-Reunion at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca will be held the same weekend, August 18-19, 2018, as the golf championship.

They also confirmed the upcoming Pebble Beach Concours are back to the normal third Sunday in August in future years; the event will be held August 18, 2019; August 16, 2020; and August 15, 2021. There has been one change for the 2017 schedule. On May 3, 2017 Gooding & Company announced it would be shifting their auction from Saturday and Sunday evenings to Friday August 18 and Saturday, August 19, 2017 with preview days being held on Wednesday, August 16 – Saturday, August 19, 2017.
