Blue Is Fabulous For Home Interiors

Blue is a fabulous color to use in an interior.  It is neither masculine or feminine. Blue tends to make people comfortable.  When done well, like when you go for it and don’t hold back – blue can be very dynamic and inspiring in an interior.  Blue can work magic in the home.

My favorite color is blue, hence the blue kitchen.  Around my community it’s known as “Lisa Blue.”  As much as I like to demand I’m unique, this love of blue puts me in the norm.  Even interior designer Bunny Williams extolled the virtues of blue in Elle Decor, “Blue is one of the easiest colors to live with and is most people’s favorite hue.”

Blue is a universal color, which makes it a very easy color to incorporate into interiors.  Blue is both calming and strong, mystical and reassuring.  It is found all over in nature from the water to the sky and wonderful places in between. Personally I’m quite fond of both sapphire and turquoise which make fine colors for the home interior.

But maybe you’d like something a bit more unusual, but useful.  How about a blue LED faucet?

I was once told that as long as one uses at least 3 colors of blue any additional ones will work with it.  This works like a charm!   Blue is a component of glorious interior color combinations.

• Tranquility – mix blues and greens for watery illusions
• Nautical or classic – mix a deep navy with crisp white
• Sophisticated – combine royal or marine blue with purple, gold or silver
• Tropical – turquoise and orange, yellow or pinks are hot
• Everyday – what doesn’t go with the multiple shades of denim?
• Happy – butter yellow and pale sky blue

So whether it is for in interior or outdoor room (Scalamandre outdoor fabric above) or even in the garden there is always a color of blue which can work.
