Between bathroom fixtures and kitchen fixtures it is likely a toss up, which one gets more use on a daily basis. Either way performance trumps looks. If the handle, the faucet, or shower doesn’t work well the product is a failure.
Notice how this bottom shower lever hits the top one? How does this high-end manufacturer let this get to market? Of course I played around to see if this was just a installation issue, nope.
My first thought was, Brizo would never let this happen. Having spent time with their design team in February for their Jason Wu Fashion Week event, we learned just how careful they are with production and product testing. They test, study, test, and study until they get a product right and if it isn’t, the consumer will never see it.

Nobody wants to install a product and find a flaw. Two things happen: they live with a moderate irritation level or they have to call the plumber, uninstall the item and either get it fixed or start over finding a replacement.
How does the consumer avoid this? Check with your designer and local plumbing supply showroom before falling in love with a particular fixture. My local showroom raves about Brizo, and used to sell the other manufacturer’s products.
- Ask what manufacturers are responsive.
- Ask what products or manufacturers they have problems with.
Good showrooms will be honest, they want you to be a happy customer. When buying daily use faucets and fixtures go with the manufacturers which have the best customer service, put a lot of research into their product and build a high quality product. A brand name is only as good as their products.
