Bumble Bee – The New Interior Color Scheme

Adding turquoise does not help.

WARNING:  This is not a good idea.

OMG!  When I first saw this fabric I thought maybe it was a fluke.  One European fabric house getting a little out there, but out came the books with matching wallcovering.  Eeeek attack of the bumble bee for home interiors.  Yellow and black, yellow and gray, lemon and dirty black, if interior colors are indicators of a down economy… it could be getting worse!  (No modifications to the color of the fabrics were made in reproducing the pictures shown.  They really are as drab as shown.  In fairness of truthful reporting, I can’t make them look better.)

In the beginning it was more like a dirty, dingy pea-soup with black.  😯 Charming, who is going to put that in their house?  Talk about a dated interior, this will look so yesterday sooo fast.

Then a few more presented their versions of the bumble bee interior, brighter but no better.

I have nothing against bees, they have numerous housing developments in my garden.  I have no issues with yellow or black or gray.  I even like split pea soup, though mine errors on the side of green not yellow.

But for an interior?  A whole room of this?  “I’d like my living room in bumble bee?”  Not… ever.

Come on, these colors are hideous.  The mental distress one would feel after spending time in a room decorated in this color combination is unimaginable.  It doesn’t matter, the brighter version (lemon yellow) or the dingy one, they are both horrific.   Not many clients are going to make a beeline 😉 for the latest bumble bee interior trend.  Sorry, but I’ve got to say it.

Fortunately the rest of the new fabrics presented were a delight.
