Chef Derek’s Blow Your Guests Away Frittata Recipe

Looking for a super-duper breakfast or brunch idea for Labor Day weekend?  Here is an easy-to-make cook like a rockstar frittata recipe guests will gush over.If you’ve spent anytime with me here on the blog or in person, you know I’m a foodie at heart.  You may also know I can be a bit persnickety.  Nah, too kind, I’m a total food snob – I hate crappy tasteless slop on a plate someone tries to pass off as food.  Layers of flavor is the only way to eat.

Great food is worth celebrating.

I met Chef Derek Paterson, Commis Chef, from The Westin Harbour Castle in Toronto, Ontario when he catered for our Blogger Retreat last month.  I knew from the first email we spoke the same flavor language and whoa did he deliver!

One of our favorite dishes was this mouthwatering frittata which I’ve made twice since our first meeting and my husband calls it the breakfast version of his favorite dark chocolate fudge: decadent and delicious.   After a small about of begging, not really – he is the nicest guy on the planet,  Derek agreed to share the recipe with you in his own words.

I’m very excited & overwhelmed by the response and outcome over my frittata recipe.  When Lisa asked me to do a guest post on her blog I was out with my wife Lanya, son Jonathan and my daughter Mariah.  We were on our way to Jonathan’s basketball camp, I could hardly contain my excitement. I was a kid in a candy store, or a chef in a kitchen supply store…  Yep, I get excited over new kitchen toys.  How could I say no this incredible opportunity?

So hello to all of you and thank you again for allowing me to share with you this scrumptious meal.  I have made this a few times now since the ever popular “Bloggers Retreat”.

Let me tell you all this was such a incredible three day event, what can I say?   A room full of lovely ladies and me. Bonus!!!!   I hope that there will be another, it’s something I want to be part of again for sure.

So enough of me gushing about the Bloggers Retreat let’s get down to why I’m here, to reveal the secret recipe for my Frittata… Drum roll please.

I hope you all enjoy this recipe as much as I do. I’m thinking with the amount of recipes I love to prepare it’s time to put a book out. This will be my next project for sure. Take care and all the best to you and your families.
