Countdown to Ferrari Cavallino Classic

Yes I know it is Christmas Eve but I’m tired of the Christmas posts and Saturday is for my automotive enthusiast posts.

It is a less than a month until the ultimate Ferrari event uniting car lovers from all over the world at the Cavallino Classic, January 17 -22, 2012 in Palm Beach, Florida.  Please visit their website for the full schedule.The 2012 Cavallino Classic will be honoring 50 years of the Ferrari GTO as well as the designs of Carrozzeria Vignale. The GTO was a big draw at Pebble Beach (look in my slide show) this last August.  There are plenty of pics from my other car posts too.  Less than 40 of this stylish gentleman’s racer was produced making it one of the most valuable cars in existence today.

For 2012  the Cavallino Classic is extending their hospitality to vintage Aston Martins which should prove to be an exciting mix of horsepower, especially on the track days.    1954 Aston Martin DB 2/4 Graber Drophead Coupe from 2010 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

Cavallino Classic is one of the top automotive events in the entire world, on par with both Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance and Villa d’Este Concorso d’Eleganza.  Here are my highlights of last year’s Cavallino Classic.   Growing in popularity is the final event of the weekend, Classic Sports Sunday at Donald Trump’s exclusive Mar-A-Lago Club.

This gorgeous Delahaye was a crowd favorite.1955 Ferrari 500 Mondial Scaglietti Spyder Series II owned by the charming and humble Admiral Robert Phillips since the 1960’s.  His stories are amazing.As always the most question at this point is what to wear.  Will it be warm and breezy this year or sunny but cold like last year?
