In 2019 Bentley Motors will celebrate its 100th anniversary on July 10th, making it a celebratory year. As a pillar of the automotive world and standard bearer of true luxury automobiles Bentley Motors has created an extraordinary option just for Bentley customers to honor 100 years of wonderful heritage. Bentley Motors crafted some very special elements which can be included on cars built during 2019 called the Centenary Specification.
This very unique specification package offers a group of handcrafted features for every car built at the factory in Crewe in 2019. Starting with a couple of changes to distinctive badge found on the front, rear and wheel centers of every Bentley. The central ‘B’ is highlighted in a special “Centenary Gold’ gold. On the bonnet and boot badge this will also carry the 1919 and 2019 designation.
Open the door where the treadplate will illuminate to greet the entrant with a Centenary message, as well as highlight the two important years.
The Bentley B embellished with this new Centenary Gold will also appear in the center of the gearshift and all important car key. A special crafted metallic thread highlights the Winged B on both the steering wheel and headrests. To further enhance a customer’s specification they may also commission this special gold thread for contrast stitching or cross stitching for their particular car.
Only cars built at the Crewe factory from January through December 2019 may be specified with this Centenary Specification. Customers have until October 2019, or September 2019 for the Mulsanne, to include this specification in their build. It does not just happen, a customer has to request this specification which means seeing a car with the distinguishing Centenary Specification will be a rare occurrence.
Bentley created Centenary Gold from looking to the past at the tones of the metalwork from vintage Bentleys, to the present in the copper detailing featured on the new Bentayga Hybrid and the all-electric EXP12 Speed 6e concept car. Centenary Gold is created to shimmer like jewelry, as a tribute to the company’s rich heritage and signify the beginning of an electrifying new era.
For more on the current models check out the Bentley Motors website, and don’t forget to add Centenary Specification on the configurator.
Look for the telltale signs of the celebratory Centenary Specification each time you encounter a new Bentley. Stay tuned this year as I’ll brining you more of the glorious history of Bentley Motors and introduce you to exactly why, after 100 years, Bentley is still building extraordinary vehicles.
