Highlights From Concours At Mar-A-Lago

The much anticipated Classic Sports Sunday (Concours) is held as the closing event for the Cavallino Classic.  It is hard to resist champagne on the lawn walking amongst automotive finery at Donald Trump’s Mar-A-Lago club in Palm Beach, Florida.  I don’t know how he does it but each year the weather is better; bright sun, light breeze and mid 70’s kept us gals happy in spring dresses while the men were left wondering why they were wearing their typical concours uniform. 1956 Aston Martin DB 2/4 Supersonic 1929 Duesenberg Model J 1935 Rolls-Royce Phantom II – I just love these cars! 1959 Bentley Continental Hi-Wing  – wait until you see the rear… Can you tell Aston Martin was the special feature? 1954 Aston Martin DB 2/4 Graber Donald Trump and Melania sneaking thorough. 1936 Aston Martin 15/98 and me.  This would be my take home choice, or is it the Rolls?

Year after year this fun event seems to grow in size.  Of course there were plenty of Ferraris on the lawn as well.  In fact I’m saving a very special one for a later post, special or ugly – I’ll let you decide.  Of course I go for the cars but seeing Mar-A-Lago and all the gorgeous architectural details is what I really like.  For more on Mar-A-Largo click here for interior details or here if you would like to see last year’s event.
