How To Achieve Bliss By Giving Up One Item In Your Shower

One of the most common requests designers get from clients regarding their bathroom is to make it feel like a spa, they want to experience a sense of bliss. We’ve found the most blissful bathrooms have one thing in common, a luxurious shower punctuated by a linear drain.

Originally used to help make a shower handicap accessible, designers quickly realized this one small item achieves a whole lot of perks. Using a linear drain means you can achieve a zero barrier entry shower. Eureka, a safety item which will also improve the look of a space. (This rarely happens.)

Today’s bathrooms are about comfort and ease, the point of a spa bathroom. What could you give up to gain beauty? How about the same old ordinary shower drain?

Seamless transitions can remove visual clutter which instantly makes a space more relaxing. Linear drains can be hidden in the tile design or follow the geometry of the space.

Linear drains look clean and drain faster. Logically it makes more sense for the contractor to angle the plane of the shower floor in just one direction rather than many. Linear drains allow bathroom design to get more creative and focus on the pretty stuff… awesome tile or fabulous fixtures.

A linear drain allows you to see your bathroom. A floor drain is not a focal point. Do you really want least interesting item in the shower to capture your eye? I didn’t think so. (Notice how this designer above is drying to hide it.) By forgoing the $50 bullseye on your shower floor a linear drain visually expands the space making the atmosphere luxurious.

Linear drains are not new, more and more they are the keystone to a luxury bathroom. If you want your bathroom to replicate a spa environment and deliver you the same sense of bliss on a daily basis, a linear drain might be just what you are looking for.
