Now now my lovely pals we are talking furniture, outdoor furniture for deck, patio or other outdoor rooms. You don’t know me very well if you thought this was going to be a post on getting intoxicated, this is primarily an interior design blog. (Don’t fret I’ll do a post on cocktails soon, I’ve got some new ones.) Back to the story, furniture made from wire. Trending in outdoor decor: metal lightweight seating.
There is something to be said about outdoor furniture one can move. Hmm, we could make the same argument for this cool wall art too.
I love my teak outdoor furniture, unless I have to maneuver it, which is every time I get in and out of a dining chair. This time of year, we are talking almost daily. And noisy too.

These are the work of designer, sculptor and man of metal, Gaurav Nanda and owner of Bend. I get it, cool name. Well, he is from Michigan – we are a creative bunch. I met him at ICFF, cool dude. He’s out of Los Angeles now. Maybe I’ll get some seat bonding time at Dwell on Design in a couple of weeks.
The sculptural aspect of creating a skeleton of an object or seating which is also functional is very well done. In terms of seating, these chairs are also comfortable – shock and suprise . Mainly because the bones of the seat are close enough together they do not make accordion pleats in your backside. (I hate that, we all have a little fat in the rear, but to highlight it – not a good thing.) Also the mark of a quality chair.
Want more cool new outdoor furniture finds? Later this month I’ve got some heavy metal with is not so heavy.
