Lastest Insider Scoop on Interior Fabric Colors

On Tuesday I participated in a Live Twitter Chat from London Design Week with a group of interior designers from all around the globe.  “What are the standout colors and looks at London Design Week?”  For anyone looking for validation, the resounding response was “color” or “colour.”

02miamiInterior designer Andrew Dunning of APD Interiors in London, England, gave us his insight on what he saw, “This year is all about colour – and lots of it!  Lots of bright colours seen at Design Week, greens and blues especially.” But there were also a number of yellows and reds.Zinc TextileThe temperature of the participating designers was hot for great colors.   There was a resounding call for the death of beige interiors.  Bright clear colors are welcome.

One company on the leading edge of this new color trend is Zinc Textile offered through The Romo Group here in the USA.  Incidentally their HQ is about 9 miles from me.  Andrew tweeted a picture of some Zinc fabrics and I was hooked.  As any good reporter hot on a story, I drove myself right over to get the latest scoop.  Reporter, interior designer, whatever, if it is about color I have to know NOW!

And the scoop I got, directly from ROMO’s Hillary Olderman!  She was kind enough to give me an exclusive sneak peek.  Known for a more subdued color palate (they have some gorgeous grays) Zinc is just introducing their new Miami Collection shown above, overseas.

Here are my pics she allowed from the sewing room.  Can you pick which one might be going on my chairs?

All the colorways in Haring

Casuarina and Fontainebleau by Zinc TextileThe collection won’t be out in America until May or June.   I got to see some of the only pieces in the USA fresh from the sewing room.  (This was kind of neat to be able to visit.  Who knew?)  They are still working on the books, wings and memo samples.  But once June is here, be ready to infuse your interiors with clear wonderful colors because these are here for a while.
