He said he was going to do it, and he did. Noted car collector and privateer Jim Glickenhaus has proven dreams do come true. In mid 2017 Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus received approval from the NHTSA to be a Low Volume Manufacturer in the United States. Jim has a history of taking potent race cars, most notably the Ferrari P4/5, and making them, shall we say user friendly, aka, road worthy. Now he’s scaled up to being a full on car manufacturer.
His newest creation, the SCG 004S looks to be the hottest American made supercar, one to truly rival the big boys.
Having successfully manufactured and proven the track only SCG 003, he unleashed the SCG 003 CS, or road worthy $1.3 Million, 800-HP version in 2016. I snapped this shot after meeting and talking with Jim at The 2017 Quail Motorsports Gathering.
Fast forward to November 2017 when SCG unveiled the SCG 004S, an American made 5.0-liter 650 horsepower twin-turbo V8, for the regular supercar connoisseur. With a base price of $400,000, the SCG 004S is on par with a Lamborghini Aventador or Ferrari 488 Pista. Unlike these which only come with an automatic transmission, you can choose a six-speed gated manual transmission or paddle shift option on the SCG 004S. 
Another unique feature, borrowed from the McLaren F1 will be the three seat configuration.

The 2018 versions look to be prototypes only. The 2019 Founder’s Edition SCG 004S are already sold out. SCG expects overall production to reach up to 250 cars by 2021, including possible racing variants of the 004 for the GTE/GTLM/GT3 class.
