Right now outdoor fireplaces are hot. Landscape professionals say fireplaces are one of the most requested outdoor elements. Who cares if it is already plenty warm out, there is just something magical a fireplace brings to a space.
For me it is the crackle of the embers and the smell. Oh the smell, takes me right back to campfires on the beach as a child which consumed every summer weekend.
Fireplaces can be very elaborate and “designed” or more organic in nature. Either way in one’s outdoor living spaces we have come to expect a fireplace of some sort.
A fireplace or fire pit has become the focal point around which an outdoor room is created.
As the focal point of what has become an outdoor room, fireplaces are created as part of the space in contemporary or more traditional designs, which ever is appropriate for the architecture and style of the home.
The use of a modern fire pit has become practical alternative to a fireplace.
Outdoor living and outdoor fireplaces have come a long way in the last 70 years as this outdoor fireplace from my mom’s childhood home can attest. Outdoor fireplaces and fire pits can add a wonderful element of charm and coziness to your outdoor living. Heat up your outdoor enjoyment by adding a fireplace.
